An Unbelievably Good Event
October 3, 2020: Lane County – Eugene – Springfield Candidate Meet and Greet took place at the Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell, Oregon. What a tremendous and beautiful day this was. Clear blue skies, perfect outdoor temperature. A good size, crowd of courteous, peaceful supporters and a great group of candidates. I am sure that many in the liberal press were disappointed as there were no riots or protests.
A Little Thanks
The Lane County Republican Campaign Shop, usually open from 10-5, Monday thru Saturdays, was closed to be at the event. They handed out free Dump Kate – Vote Trump face masks, and offered caps, hats, banners and more to the attendees.
Thank you to Mike and his company Conference Resources, for providing audio support – what a good job. Michael is a strong Conservative and if you need audio-video for an event, you will want to contact his company.
Thank You Republican Candidates
As you know, Donald Trump is in quarantine. While he was not able to attend, Lane Counties own Emma Mitchem did a fantastic job, representing him. Many of you are aware that Emma, has traveled the country attending Trump events and meeting with many others that most of us would like to meet but have not had the opportunity. Emma returns each time to Lane County to share her thoughts on our tremendous President, regularly getting banned from Facebook for speaking the truth. Emma assured us that President Trump is doing well and with our support, he will be reelected.
Next up was Michael Cross, Republican candidate for Oregon Attorney General. If you missed Michael’s talk, you missed some very informative and pertinent words. Unfortunately, shortly after his talk, he had to leave for another event in Coos Bay where he was also scheduled.
Joe Rae Perkins (R), U.S. Senate candidate running against Jeff Merkley (D), was on the road to the event in Coos Bay and spoke to us by phone. While she could not be in attendance, her comments were well received.
Incredible Republican District Candidates
What an incredible representation of district candidates Lane County has. We should be pleased, we have so many candidates running for office with the goal of restoring sanity to Oregon and the country. Longer than many of you have been alive, Oregon has been led by a mob of left-wing Democrats that in their quest for power, have shredded our state. High taxes, failing schools, supporting convicts and illegal aliens over law abiding citizen and legal aliens. These left-wing activist including Oregon’s governor, are putting individuals out of jobs and companies out of business, all as a result of their attempt to be like California. To bring sanity back to our state, we must turn Oregon RED. This election is one we must be devoted to and electing Republican candidates is a major step in doing so.
Speaking were Boomer Wright – District 9; Katie Boshart Glaser – District 11; Ruth Linoz – District 12, David Smith – District 13; Rich Cunningham – District 14. Each gave a good talk which they ended with a question and answer period. As I listened to each, I for one felt encouraged that we are going to get some big wins in Oregon.
Unable to attend were Cedric Hayden – District 7, who is fighting fires, Timothy Aldal – District 8, who is in quarantine because of possible exposure at his job, State Senate candidate Dick Anderson, who represents coastal Lane County and had an event in that area.

Statewide Republican Candidates
Following the District candidates, we heard from statewide Republican candidates, Jeff Gudman for State Treasurer and Kim Thatcher for Secretary of State. Jeff is a man that we need in Oregon to watch the books. For way to long, we have experienced out of control spending in the state of Oregon. We also need Kim Thatcher, she is presently an Oregon State Senator and has the know-how for change. Once elected, should Brown leave office before the end of her term, Kim will be the first in-line to replace her. Kim is a strong Republican as is Jeff and Kim both deserve our support.
Alek – U.S. House District 4
Are you as tired of Peter DeFazio as I am? Over the past 40 years, Peter whom I now ashamedly supported in his early days, has turned far LEFT as has his party. Today, the Democratic party is hardly recognizable. It is time for Peter to go, and Alek Skarlatos, is just the man to replace him. While I find Alex somewhat reserved, he is no pushover. Alek is young, smart and Conservative. He is a former US Army National Guard soldier who, along with fellow Americans Spencer Stone and Anthony Sadler, a Briton, a Frenchman, and an American, stopped a gunman on a Paris-bound train travelling from Amsterdam via Brussels in August 2015. Alek is a fighter and he will fight for us.
Republican Candidates Deserve Our Help and Support
Every one of our candidates is someone you will want to support. Each can use some help with posting of signs, making phone calls, getting your friend and neighbors out to vote. If you can make a financial contribution to their campaign please do. Unlike Democrats, Republicans rarely receive the financial support of public Unions and billionaires that want to enrich their own pockets. Those dues that you are forced to pay into the Unions routinely end up in the pocket of the Democrats whom in return pay favors back to the Unions.
Lane County, Oregon and many other counties are blessed this year, as we have a good group of Republican candidates. It is up to us to help get them elected and turn both Lane County and Oregon RED.
If You Missed the Event, Don’t Whine
To those that missed this event, don’t whine that you didn’t know about it. Notification were in the newsletter, on the website, many social media pages and over the 3-day period leading up to the event and the morning of, we had 32 radio commercials on shows such as The Morning Show, Rush, and Lars.
Wipe those tears and step up and do what you can to support our Republican Candidates. Get our conservative candidates elected or we will be drowned in tears.
