Letters to the Editor: Voter Integrity

It’s time to discuss voter integrity. If we don’t, it won’t be long until no one will accept election results. If that happens, then we are beyond help. Voting is a privilege in the US, reserved for its legitimate legal citizens.

Voters are very concerned about voter ID in our democracy, especially in a vote by mail process such as Oregon’s. Considering that we have to show ID to buy alcohol, get on a plane or cash a check, it isn’t unreasonable to expect voters to present their ID when they cast a ballot.

It’s also time for the state to take responsibility for cleaning up the voter rolls, especially to eliminate deceased voters. We must show that the dead are not voting as what was reported in Chicago in 2016. It’s really not funny when you consider the consequences.
